Habituate

distinguishable dance music only!

Monthly Archives: October 2012

Here are two really relaxing deep house tunes from German producer Luvless, of Rose Records. The Rose Records mantra, as written on their website is “we believe in the beauty of nature, the pureness of a warm summer rain and the pleasure of friendship.” I think you can hear that in Luvless’ sound, he isn’t trying to put out that next big party banger, instead he is focused in on authentic positive vibes. Check it out! And grab the free download of “Oceans & Mountains.”

PetFood label is the creation of Miami natives, Jay-You & Lazaro Casanova. Since it’s inception in 2008, the label has been a hub for forward thinking deep house music. One of the recent petFood releases shared on the Habituate blog is Son of Sound’s Live Wire EP. And below is the newest release by Kasbah Zoo. Beautifully deep dubbed out house music!

And to make the showcase that much better, LA’s own Bas Elgharib and Jimmy Maheras of Plastic Love will be joining the petFood crew!

Great mix from Australia’s Inkswel. This mix goes through an unheard of range within just the first 10 minutes before getting deep. I really love the display or personality in the mix, the mix seems so much less calculated than others. It’s more like impulsively grabbing records strewed around the room but still mixing with precision, and even boldly adding in some scratching. The mix is anticipation of a 10″ release on Scottish label Firecracker Recordings, listen to the EP here.

Peculiar little tid-bit here from 80’s Italian synth-pop duo Kazino. This track has recently been getting some plays thanks to Tel-Aviv based electronic production duo, Red Axes. Red Axes is Dori Sadovnik & Niv Arzi. They got started working together in a post-punk/new-wave band, and then started putting on psychedelic parties in Israel. Don’t know what’s up with Israel and it’s obsession with psychedelic dance music, but they like it. And as you can see, Red Axes work is definitely on still on the cerebral side. Thank god though it isn’t at 145 BPM.

We all recognize that low pitch “ooooooooooooh yeah” vocal from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, you got to love it. Alkalino offers up this straight forward edit from the electronic duo, Yello. Those weird Swiss dudes actually made some pretty mean sounding beats. Grab the free .WAV and enjoy!
