Daniel Wang is truly one of my favorite characters in the world of DJing, producing, and partying. His absurdest nature, yet keen ear for the finer tunes both satisfy my need for not taking life to serious and my desire for seeking out the most unique facets of life. I’ve only got to catch him DJ once, and it was in Hollywood at the Eagle, where he played to a packed bar of sweaty dudes while he played air guitar and piano over the decks and proudly display album covers as he played the respective song. Mixing wasn’t on point, but the drama in his song selection and animation in delivery made it truly not matter!

This particular mix was made by Leftside Wobble, a maestro in his own right. Have a listen!

Here are two really relaxing deep house tunes from German producer Luvless, of Rose Records. The Rose Records mantra, as written on their website is “we believe in the beauty of nature, the pureness of a warm summer rain and the pleasure of friendship.” I think you can hear that in Luvless’ sound, he isn’t trying to put out that next big party banger, instead he is focused in on authentic positive vibes. Check it out! And grab the free download of “Oceans & Mountains.”

I always said I would only mention something going on in LA if it is really jaw droppingly great. Rhonda is known for bringing in that sort of talent, but this time they really hit the spot. They are bringing over Nicholas and Simoncino, two of the best in the deep house world, for their first US appearances.

These Italian natives’ interpretation and perspective is fresh yet it is also a homage to the original feel of house music. There is good reason I have handfuls of their records in my collection, it is an obvious fact that these records will withstand the test of time and be classics in their own right decades from now.

You can find out more about Nicholas by reading this Habituate article “USA underground via Perugia, Italy.”

And here are some of my favorite tracks by the two Italian producers.

I decided to get in touch with Henry Maldonado after playing his record “Trial By Fire.” I thought to myself, “I need more from whoever this person is,” so I did an online discogs search and found out the man behind the wax is Henry Maldonado, a house music veteran of over 20 years and one of the first producers on the famous label Strictly Rhythm. I ended up with a lot more than just more music to listen to. I was given the opportunity to pick his brain, and now for those of you curious, you can get an insider’s viewpoint on early house music in the 90’s from one of NYC’s finest!

A lot has been said about Acid House. For those of us too young to have been there it remains in our psyche as a fabled era. Many claims have been made that all that is outstanding in today’s dance music culture was created back then, in the short time period of roughly only 4 years. Habituate OC has a primary source from an Englishman who now resides in Huntington Beach, CA. Martin Worster a.k.a. Han the DJ, puts together a fresh mix of the records he collected from ’89 to ’92 and lets us know about how he viewed the days of ACID HOUSE.

Taylor Freels, aka Urulu and less commonly known as Lawrence Black, hails from La Mirada, California. I personally had the pleasure of meeting the young producer at the last warehouse party I threw in Long Beach, CA. Taylor originally cut his teeth in the beat scene and immersed himself in music by creating Rebel, an online music source. He just only recently made the transition to the deep house world but is definitely sending out shock waves. Look out for more and keep in touch here.

Left Minded is production and DJ duo, Luke Alan and Neil Goodman from Los Angeles, CA. If you live in Orange County you might have caught them playing at the long time running house weekly, Focus. Luke and Neil offer up this deliciously deep version of Michael Jackson’s timelessly sexy “Remember the Time” for free! This track is oozing with honest positive feelings and what would music be if it didn’t evoke a bit of emotion?

Lookout for more from Left Minded in the near future, they will be releasing an EP on ‘Something Different Records,’ and remixes on ‘i! Records’ and ‘Deso Records.’

Find them on facebook and soundcloud.
