24/02/12 Softwar – This Time Around [FCL 65]
Here are two melancholic anthems of the hands up at an open-air festival sort by Australian duo, Softwar. These two tracks are off their newest 4 track EP on Future Classics and it is definitely one to get your hands on. This EP resonates well for me in California since it has a summer feel and it’s basically summer all year round here, same goes for Australia so no wonder in February we already have our minds floating around in blissful rays of sunshine. Enjoy! Also check out Softwar’s soundcloud for some free downloads.

23/02/12 Jesse Perez – Jesse Don’t Sport No Jerrie Curl [HOTC 017]
A nice heaping helping of ghetto never did anyone any harm, and since house music lovers are at risk of taking things too seriously, claiming one of it’s biggest genre off shoots as “deep,” we should get knee deep in some unapologetically raunchy shit like this. Imagine you are in Miami in the early nineties, booty bass, and bass test tracks booming from low riders, on the other end of town a definite salsa 4/4 booms from the dance clubs, it only makes sense that this infusion would work its way into house music.

09/02/12 Gazeebo International (Free Edits)
Here is a secret source of mine for monster jams. Gazeebo International is run by Jon Nedza from Denver, Colorado and is originally from New Jersey. Jersey is known for its fair share of quality dance music, some one of a kind house music has originated there and I’m sure music has done well there if it spawned Jon. He has the most interesting edits I’ve heard in a while. He really keeps it fresh. And now you can grab a bunch of his edits for yourself.

09/02/12 Ejeca – There 4 U [unrealeased]
I have been posting obscure oddities and upbeat stuff for a while, and my DJ sets at gigs have been really happy so I decided to switch gears and share something more contemplative. Dance music you would close your eyes to. Ejeca is becoming one of the stand out producers in the deep dance music world, have a listen to this unreleased tidbit.

04/02/12 Upcoming gigs
Hot off the heels of the 2nd Habituate party and I have two upcoming gigs both taking place in Long Beach. Long Beach is having a bit of a resurgence in underground dance music culture right now. A couple months ago Scotty Coats of the Double Fisted Underground threw a warehouse party with Garth and just a few weeks ago the Love528 crew threw a party with Doc Martin & Sergio V spinning in a really dope warehouse venue until 6am.

The Warehouse Project USA
I will be doing my part in the underground Long Beach scene with one of my latest collaborations, The Warehouse Project USA, a party inspired by the UK Warehouse Project. I am working on this with a circle of friends from California State University Long Beach. We have acquired a warehouse/art gallery space and will have a large amplified sound-system going until 4am in the industrial district of the Long Beach ports. You need to RSVP to get the address.
